Besides taking critters apart, my students have put together some pretty cool ones as we've studied insects. Here are a few pictures of seventh grade entomologists building their own bugs.

After three class periods to get the project started, students used their lunchtime to finish up. The insects were constructed of papier-mache', paint, pipe cleaners, hot glue and plenty of scientific imagination. We figure that God was pretty creative when he made all of us, so we were pretty creative in coming up with new bugs..jpg)
