STEVE IS ON THE MOVE soon

On January 31, Steve departs with two others from our community. They'll be flying to Amsterdam and then on to Kampala, Uganada, where they and 12 others from the states will work with DOVE Uganda Children's Fund.

We (well, not Steve's mom) are very excited for this opportunity for him to help out with some very needy people. He's going to be gone for two weeks and you can track his adventures at http://www.steveinafrica2008.blogspot.com/. I've put a link on the side margin so you can click there.

Steve has been spending months getting ready for this mission trip and we greatly appreciate your prayers for him and the team.

MITCHELL

Mitchell has been "home" for the semester/Christmas break, and he'll be heading back to Santa Fe on Wednesday. Last night we met with our traveling buddies at Chuck E Cheese's for a bit of fun before he takes off again.

RITES OF PASSAGE?

Catherine turned 16 in November and was more than ready to get her license to drive. We were so ready also as we needed a new go-fer since Mitchell's off at college. Besides running random errands for us, Catherine drives Stephanie and herself to school each morning, and she gets herself to and from her afterschool activities. And she is one busy girl!
I'm grateful that state law prevents her from having passengers (besides family) for another six months.
Days before Catherine got her license to drive, she had her braces removed. With one kid out of braces, it was time to put another in. (Our orthodontist loves us.) Yesterday Stephanie had her metal installed! It will take her some time to adjust to playing the clarinet...I cannot even imagine. I'm glad basketball season is over for the year and that she has time to adjust before softball starts.
